Under his Scuba guise, DJ, producer, and Hotflush Recordings curator Paul Rose delivers this hour-long, exclusive mix that's a comprehensive sampling of new dubstep sounds. Techno, electro, and atmospheric influences all collide with the genre in the form of tracks from Baby Ford, Sigha, Toasty, Untold, Martyn, and a few from Rose himself.
Rose, who relocated from his native London to Berlin in 2007, released his much-praised debut full-length, A Mutual Antipathy, earlier this year. His production work, like his tastes as a DJ, isn't confined to straight dubstep, but rather looks to many different styles of music that could influence the genre. Catch him throwing his Berlin-based party SUB:STANCE on his off hours.

Mishka presents the third installment of their Keep Watch mixtape series, this time featuring Dub Police duo The Others, who recently smashed Fabric in London at the Dub Police Halloween Takeover.
"The Others, two of the UK’s foremost beat makers, D-Code & DeXterous have come together here to heap a dark and heavy helping of Garage and Grime upon the Mishka’s ongoing Keep Watch series. Representing one of the deepest crews in the scene – consisting of seventeen hardcore Mishka supporters– under the namesake of Dub Police, The Others have dug deep into their collective influences to create 41 minutes of the densest beats heard in a while. Accompanying them on the mic is MC Roguestar, a pillar in the UK Dub, Drum & Bass underground scene, adding his own touch to keep the theme of the mix dark and moody. Working together The Others and Roguestar pull the roots of traditional Dubstep right out of the ground, chop them up and deliver a completely unique sound."

In anticipation of their Chicago Halloween show [which apparently slayed the Chicago crowds causing bass-induced hangovers citywide], the Trill Bass crew took over the Chicago airwaves on October 30th on the Part Time Suckers radio show. These were the gruesome and grotesque results. enjoy. out to TrillBass and all the U.S. producers and DJs out there pushing the sound.

Last night was the first Fabric debut show of Caspa's Dub Police label, and let me just say that it slayed the Halloween night. The show hosted an array of Dub Police DJ's including heavyweight duo The Others (fresh off their first LP release), a live performance from Swedish duo L-Wiz, foundation DJ's Caspa and Rusko, and an opening set by Cotti & Cluekid Ft. Slickman aka Mr. Party while MC's Roguestar and Rod Azlan presented the rest of the night. Holding its own up against the foundation drum n' bass DJ's of Playaz's night, Dub Police rattled bones with sub-shaking tactics and stood tall throughout the whole night.
Cotti & Cluekid Cotti & Cluekid layed down a magnificent opening set where it seemed that all the records upon the decks were pure dubplates, fresh from the cutter, equipped with the famous Transition logo so you knew where that sh*t was pressed. They rinsed a heavy-set sound unique to themselves, backed by MC Slickman just flexin' on the mic and sportin' new flows concocted straight from the mind.
The Others Fresh off the release of The Otherside LP on the Dub Police label, The Others, backed up by Roguestar MC, followed up Cotti & Cluekid with a ground smashing set. Rinsing several tracks other their own, including the Africa V.I.P. off their aforementioned EP, the duo left the dance floor shaking in their wake as the stage was set for the cool and humble sounds of Swedish dubstep entrepreneurs L-Wiz.
L-Wiz (Live) To the relief of the dance floor victims, the duo released the force grip of ground scrapping sub sounds by starting the set off with chill vibes, giving our ravers a chance to sway in the breeze of cool piano harmonies and swim in the waves of warm bass notes. The set consisted of live dj mixing with an accompanied live synth piano which added new dimensions to the sound vibrations every 16 bars. Starting off with an ambient vibe, incorporating a highly favorable reggae swing, and ending on a heavy note as man dem Caspa prepared to pound everyone into submission. Caspa Without a doubt this set was one of the heaviest of the night out of ALL the rooms. Competing with the likes of Original Sin and DJ Hype, loyal dubsteppers kept on stepping as legendary foundation DJ Caspa threw down tracks like Zeus in a lighting storm. Notable tracks included Tes La Rock's Up In The V.I.P. Ft. Uncle Sam, Caspa's popular remix of TC's Where's My Money and the highly anticipated Cockney Thug remix, absolutely smashing. Top gun mixing with an exclusive selection and pristine flows from Rod Azlan left the night echoing after his hour long set, followed by fellow Sub Soldier and brother in arms Rusko Banton.
Rusko If there was any DJ who could keep the dance floor full and ravers steppin' up until 4:30 in the morning it was fellow Dub Police foundation DJ and Sub Soldier Rusko. Displaying a wide variety of dance floor smashers , Rusko switched the vibe up throughout the set; starting with a well received remix of Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, keeping the pop vibe with tracks such as his Pro Nails Remix and Get Ya Cock Out, showcasing Sub Soldiers with 2 N A Q and Jahova, previewing anticipated releases like Soundguy Target, The Moaners and Hammertime, cracking the clubs brick foundation with Saxon and Eastern Jam (video below), and ending the set on a jump up ting with what I thought was Clipz track but forgive me as I can't quite remember.
The night ended in the main stage where Chase & Status moped up the floor with a set echoing the sounds of their exclusive mix of BBC's Radio 1 including Music Club off their recent More Than Alot EP and the infamous Brazil off Ram Record's Dimensions 3 EP which was blasting as my friend dragged me out the door so that he could go home and get some shut eye. All in all I would say the first Dub Police Fabric night was a complete success and was one of the best nights at Fabric that I have bee too since my time here in London. All Bassfaced can say is keep up the good work mates! The scene's gettin' more hype each and every day. Signing out.
